This Sunday at the TLC PPV, Asuka will have a mystery partner in her quest to defeat Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women s tag team titles. Most observers including this writer believe Asuka s partner will be a returning Charlotte Flair. The idea of Charlotte returning is being heralded by some as a much needed boost for the otherwise flagging Raw women s division. The reality is a Charlotte return would do precious little to help the division but could do plenty to hurt it.
From the minute she debuted on the main roster, Charlotte has not only been Vince McMahon s golden child, she s been his human crack. Vince is addicted to her and he cannot be objective or measured in her booking. He concluded her title-swapping feud with Sasha Banks by putting Charlotte over, a move which sent Banks on a near five-year downward spiral she s only just bouncing back from. He fed Asuka s alm
