SIBU: An investigation is ongoing to determine why the driver lost control of a four-wheel drive vehicle, causing it to plunge into the Batang Lupar river in Sebuyau on Friday (Jan 2), say police.
Sri Aman OCPD Dep Supt Bingkok John said at the time of the incident, there were several vehicles at the Triso Ferry ramp waiting for the ferry.
He said the driver, Ronany Ting, 33, could have been distracted by the children in the vehicle, which could have caused her to lose control of the vehicle. The four-wheel drive was also overloaded with passengers. We are, however, still investigating the case from all possible angles, he said.
