Meath continues to have lowest number of Gardaí per capita

LMFM By Simon Doyle Local councillor Ronan Moore says the county has been let down by successive Governments. A local councillor says it’s “staggering” that Meath continues to be the county with the lowest number of Gardaí per head of population. New figures seen by the Social Democrats show the county’s ratio has improved from 2019 when it stood at over 611 people for every Garda. However, Meath still has the highest number of residents per Garda nationwide at 585 to one. Louth has the fifth lowest ratio at 330 people to every one Garda. Speaking on The Michael Reade Show this morning, local Social Democrats Councillor Ronan Moore said the safety of the people of Meath has been compromised by successive Governments:
