Ferry crossings called off Gale force winds force cancellations
The Steam Packet says it s cancelled two sailings today and tomorrow s crossings are also at risk because of bad weather
The 8.45am Ben my Chree sailing to Heysham and her 2.15pm return trip have both been called off in the face of high winds.
The company says the 7.45pm sailing to Lancashire and tomorrow morning s 2.15am crossing could also be affected - a decision on those is due by 5.30pm.
Ronaldsway Met Office is forecasting very windy weather, increasing to gale force by this afternoon.
Yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping
There s a yellow weather warning in place for coastal overtopping from 9pm this evening.
It ll remain there until 1:30pm tomorrow.
The Ronaldsway Met Office say the areas most at risk are Shore Road Rushen, Castletown Promenade, the northern end of Douglas Promenade and to a lesser extent Laxey and Ramsey Promenades.
It s to be most significant at high tides tonight (approx. 11:10pm) and tomorrow morning (approx. 11:34am).
