On April 20, 2021, Calcasieu Parish Sheriffâs Office detectives charged Ronald J. Dugas, Jr., 44, 694 Jaywood Drive, Lake Charles, after an investigation revealed he was responsible for residential contractor fraud. It was learned the victim paid Dugas over $9,000 to complete a construction project at his residence. Dugas had cashed the check given to him by the victim and delivered a small portion of the materials to the home. After several months passed without any work being completed, Dugas arrived at the home and completed a few hours of work. Dugas left and did not return to complete the job. Dugas also failed to deliver all the materials, which were previously paid for.

On February 10, 2021, Calcasieu Parish Sheriffâs Office detectives received a complaint in reference to Ronald J. Dugas, Jr., 44, Lake Charles in reference to contractor fraud.
During the investigation the victim stated in January he hired Dugas to perform construction at his residence and had paid Dugas over $4,000 in full for materials and labor. The victim further stated numerous weeks went by with no work being completed at the home. After a month and a half, Dugas performed approximately five hours of work then failed to return to complete the job.
It was also learned Dugas did not deliver all the victimâs materials, which he had paid for.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriffâs Office Contractor Fraud Response Team rearrested a Lake Charles man for alleged contractor fraud.
According to sheriffâs office spokeswoman Kayla Vincent, on February 10, detectives received a complaint in reference to Ronald J. Dugas, Jr., 44, of Lake Charles in reference to contractor fraud.
Vincent says during the investigation the victim stated, in January, he hired Dugas to perform construction at his residence, at which time he paid him in full for materials and labor, over $4,000. The victim further stated numerous weeks went by with no work being completed at the home.
