Ironmandistanz wird beim Triathlon die Kombination aus 3,862 km Schwimmen, 180,246 km Fahrradfahren und 42,195 km Laufen genannt. Für manch einen Athleten ist die Absolvierung eines Ironman ein Lebensziel. Einmal dabei gewesen sein auf Hawaii, in Südafrika oder Brasilien und für ganz wenige auch mit dem Sieg, als Ironman, wieder heimkommen. Die Ironmandistanz im Sport lässt sich in der Klavierliteratur auf Ronald Stevensons „Passacaglia on DSCH“ übertragen. Das Werk umfasst ebenfalls drei Teile, mit für den normalen Pianisten schier unmöglich anmutenden Passagen und einem rund 80-minütigem Dauerlauf für die

The other driver as well as two passengers were also reportedly injured in the crash, but the patrol didn t say to what extent.
