17-year-old charged with murder in shooting death of cousin, St. Pete police say

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A 17-year-old is accused of shooting and killing his cousin following an argument at their home in St. Petersburg.
Police responded to a call about a shooting in the 4000 block of Fairfield Ave South around 7:15 a.m. Monday.
Officers found 40-year-old Ronald Gary, who had been shot several times. He was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries, but died hours later.
Police said 17-year-old Keyshawn Smiley, the victim s cousin, lives in the same home.
After the two got into an argument, officers said the teen shot the victim multiple times.

A 17-year-old boy shot and killed his cousin Monday in St. Petersburg.
According to St. Petersburg police, Ronald Gary, 40, was hospitalized with critical injuries early Monday and later died. Officers arrested his cousin and roommate, Keyshawn Smiley, on a charge of first-degree murder.
Gary and Smiley lived together at 4114 Fairfield Ave. S, just south of Fairmount Park Elementary School, according to police. They got in an argument, and Smiley shot his cousin âmultiple times,â the agency said in a news release. Officers responded about 7:15 a.m. to the home.
