OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – In the midst of a 10-week, high-profile murder trial, Prosecutor Ronald Frantz had a trial of his own.
One of his twin daughters was born with a birth defect. Frantz had to be with his wife, Patrice, and their newborn girls.
The trial in 1991 was briefly adjourned. Frantz made trips from the Grand Haven courthouse to the children’s hospital in Grand Rapids. He kept it as quiet as he could but many in court outside of the jurors learned of his struggle.
