The governor s order only applies to the Department of Natural Resources, Wisconsin State Patrol and Capitol Police. Also on Wednesday, the State Assembly bipartisan racial disparities task force issued new recommendations regarding racial disparities in law enforcement. Originally, Evers demanded a total ban on police chokeholds and no-knock warrants. However, the Republican controlled legislature ignored nine of the governor s bills he introduced in 2020.
