6th Congressional District Race Is Crowded, Meet Midlothian Resident Daryl Eddings Sr.
MIDLOTHIAN – Over 20 names will be on the ballot come May 1 for the Special Election to fill the recently vacated seat of the late Congressman Ron Wright (R-Arlington).
Wright’s death made a gaping hole in the 6th Congressional District, which normally leans right.
Eleven Republicans, 10 democrats, one Libertarian and one Independent are vying for this 6th Congressional District seat. The area covered in this seat includes parts of southeast Dallas-Fort Worth as well as Ellis and Navarro counties.

Congressman Ron Wright (R-Arlington) has tested positive for COVID-19.
Wright, 67, tested positive Thursday morning after coming in contact with someone who had the virus last week, he said. I am experiencing minor symptoms, but overall, I feel okay and will continue working for the people of the 6th District from home this week.
Wright has been in quarantine since Friday and will continue to do so until he s cleared by his doctors to return to work.
This morning, I learned that I have tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, just two Republican House members from North Texas districts will attend: Rep. Michael Burgess (D-Denton) and Rep. Roger Williams (R-Cleburne)
Rep. Ron Wright (R-Arlington) said he will not attend because he recently came into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. Last week, not long after returning to Texas following the impeachment vote in the House, I learned that several members of my staff and I had come into contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19. I am currently in quarantine, awaiting my COVID-19 test results, and I will continue to follow CDC guidance and the advice of my doctors and medical professionals, Wright said in a statement. With that being said, I will not attend the inauguration tomorrow but will be watching from my home in Arlington, Texas.
