Woodfin development stalled amid height decision

A developer hoping to build almost 1,400 units in a new mixed-use development in Woodfin will have to wait to find out if he can exceed the town s normal 35-foot building height. The Woodfin Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustment considered the conditional use permit at its regular meeting March 1, continuing past 10:30 p.m. before voting to continue the meeting.  After hearing from witnesses, the local fire chief and lawyers on both sides of the proposal, the board was left weighing exactly which conditions to consider on whether to approve the taller buildings.  The board will take the issue up again at its regular meeting April 5.

Virginia was born on July 20, 1939, in Delano, California, to David and Ellen Kuns. She married Ron Sneed on May 3, 1959, and they raised two daughters. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and loving husband. She is survived by her two sisters, Dorothy Keene and Judy Wood; her two daughters, Carin Hawks (Jeff) and Wendy Brossard (John); five grandchildren, Danielle McCauley (Shane), Janelle Porsov (Dennis), Sierra Houghton (Jared), Austin Brossard and Samuel Brossard; and four great-grandchildren, Anson McCauley, Claire Porsov, Kelton McCauley and Marcus Porsov.
