I have been visiting with other historic modernist house museums around the world to learn about their restoration and programming. I was invited to serve on the Program Committee of the noytra house in los altos. It was originally a small residence of poet jacqueline johnson, designed by my father in the late 1930s. It has been restored and adaptively reused as an intimate conference venue. I have had the pleasure of working with mr. Pearlman on his Program Committee. What i have noticed about mr. Pearlman is this. He understands not only the importance of sensitive restoration and adaptive reuse, but also the intellectual Historical Context of original buildings. He is widely read in the history of architecture, although we are volunteers on that committee, he always follows through on what he
