Zoom bets on telemedicine push to grow paid user base

Zoom, the videoconferencing app, is betting on a major shift to telemedicine in India in the post-Covid-19 era to expand its base of paid customers as the company looks to derive a large chunk of its business from the healthcare vertical, Ron Emerson, global head of healthcare at Zoom, said in an exclusive interview with ET.

Virtual appointments that were embraced out of necessity during the Covid-19 crisis are here to stay and likely to be commonplace in all hospitals going forward, Hospital Services Limited (HSL) said.
The prediction came as HSL became the first healthcare equipment provider in the UK and Ireland to enter a formal partnership with Zoom.
