As a Canadian Olympian, middle distance running star Gary Reed knows he’s a role model.
“I’m happy to take on that role. I think it’s a very important thing that role models recognize that they can impact the lives of lots of kids around the planet, and they should do everything they can do to try and help that next generation of athletes,” he said during a track and field camp on Saturday in Prince George. “It’s not enough for a guy like me to take my expertise and sit at home. It really isn’t right. This sport gave me everything. It’s my way of giving back.”
