be turning a profit there. gloria, let s talk about donald trump. he had dinner last night in new york with mitt romney. many of trump s top aides have been calling on romney to issue an apology to trump, if you will, if he wants to be seriously considered to become the secretary of state. romney didn t apologize last night, but he was effusive in his praise of donald trump after the meeting. do you think that s enough to satisfy his critics? i don t know. i think romney ate a little crow last night at that dinner. after the dinner, we saw what romney was trying to do was play it forward and not look back, smartly, on what he said during the campaign. and i don t know it will be enough. i was told today by a member of the transition that donald trump thought it went very well, was very pleased with the dinner. then they went out and said look, we still have four finalists here. so the question is, whether that
community or african-americans or muslims or women or lgbt. this is a man trafficked in bigotry and racism. george w. bush didn t, romney didn t. those candidates would have been disqualified about that. if president obama talked about groping women would have been a real problem. they re seeing what was said by donald trump before he became president and even though he may be softening the tone now they re still remembering. these are deep psychic wounds that people have. what are you seeing and hearing? people telling you? people with a lot of fear and disgust because they don t understand what the country is about, how this could happen and there s something else really strange going on we sense too. there s a real excitement in that people don t know what s going to happen from one day to the next, feel really alive

what this is, santorum won by a handful of votes. romney won the nomination. romney didn t win the presidency. we can t speculate that santorum would have lost the presidency if the rest of the country would have followed iowa s recommendation with santorum. you can say the same thing are you betting on okay. are you betting either on santorum or huckabee, your previous iowa winners in this year s election? of course not. but here s what we need to be thinking about. iowa polls say cruz, national polls say trump. national polls are reflecting the national media that s flooded with all trump, all the time. you have to adjust for that and recognize that iowa and new hampshire will be independent and south carolina will listen to that recommendation. and i think that s a thread we need to watch throughout all of this. let me ask you all, i want to start with let me start with congressman bachmann, why do you think hannity and levin and rush limbaugh seem to be so pro-cruz? wha
and he s going to have a real challenge it seems to me if he does not have a credible plan and does not come across as somebody who you can trust and, by the way, the last cycle in 2012, romney didn t take the lead permanently until february 28th. so we re a long way from that. we saw herman cain and newt beginning rich and rick santorum. everybody had their time in the sun and so that but in the last campaign at this point, we knew that romney was going to be the establishment s guy even though he was only polling at 20% or so and i think the challenge this time and i think what is panicking people is that it s not clear i mean, people assume now it will be rubio but there isn t a candidate who has romney s position and a lot of people in the establishment are saying well, you know, trump is at 35% but ted cruz is behind him and cruz is cruz is unacceptable.
