didn t he himself go out and say, you know what? maybe we need a little more time or any of that? i think it s pretty clear when the president decided to pass healthcare with only democratic votes, he put himself in a position of having healthcare be a war. a constant war. and in the campaign, they clearly didn t want to have that war. you didn t see president obama talking about healthcare. and romney didn t either because romney was romney care. i m talking about now though. what is it in the president s personality that he doesn t take preemptive action to solve problems that he sees coming down the road? i don t think there is any doubt that internally is he trying to do that but the problem is when you are afraid to make mistakes political wars of washington you don t always get a chance to fix things the right way. of the way he ran for re-election made it more likely he would win but less likely he could govern successfully. he said the fever will break when i win and re

and florida was the one, though, where i think on election day, a lot of folks that i worked with, jeb bush s office, early in the day said, it isn t going to happen here. obviously romney s magic math that they believed had him sweeping some of those big states that mccape had lost. so mccain had lost. i was impressed, romney didn t lay any blame at anyone s feet in the interviews with you. he s still a very impressive human being. can you talk about romney s humanity and dignity. you re absolutely right. when i went to see him, i went to see him at their home outside of boston and just the two of us, no aides there. we spent an hour and a half talking about it. he was not defensively. he was friendly. i asked him everything i could in 90 minutes. he took every question. he s a very decent man and has a lot of attributes some of which he wasn t able to jekproject as candidate and you can blame his campaign or question how they

and she s really an entertaining speaker. that line about mr. mcconnell would not pass a kidney stone yeah. is she just connects, it seems-w that audience. that s right. i mean, she in that stump speech she seems to really embody kentucky. she s going to be the youngest person running against mitch mcconnell. she s what, 35, i think. mcconnell has been in the senate for something like 30 years. so she s going to cast herself not only as the new kid on the block but a clinton democrat, a new kind of southern democrat. i think it s going to be a really interesting race to watch. i think she s still got an uphill slog. obama only got about 38% of the vote in that state. i d expect her to at least do that. and she ll have to figure out a way of being creative about drawing out some of those really conservative democrats who voted for romney. and she s an experienced statewide campaigner. the polls the other poll item here on mcconnell, disapproval
