Guwahati: The carcass of a six-month-old leopard was recovered by the officials of the Forest department on Friday morning. The carcass was recovered from Maligaon area in Guwahati.
The Forest department officials were informed by the local residents after they spotted the carcass of the leopard in Mahadev Nagar in Maligaon area. A joint team of police officials along with the forest department officials recovered the six-month-old leopard s carcass and further sent it for post-mortem examination.

Delhi: Enhanced GPS-technology will be introduced in Indian highways within the next two years to make vehicular transport toll-free, said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday. With the idea of making vehicular transport easier all across the country, the Union Road Transport and Highway Minister also revealed that the system will be such that the toll amount will be deducted directly from the bank account based on the movement of vehicles.

TEZPUR: Indian Army s Gajraj Corps celebrated Vijay Divas at Tezpur to commemorate the momentous victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. The Indian Armed Forces convincingly defeated the Pakistan Army which resulted in the creation of Bangladesh, as also capturing of over 93,000 Prisoner of Wars.
In a solemn ceremony held in the Corps Headquarters, Gajraj Corps GOC, Lt Gen ShantanuDayal, AVSM, SM, VSM laid the wreath at the Station War Memorial. It was on this date, 49 years back that General Niazi along with over 93, 000 Pakistan Army personnel had surrendered before the then GOC-in-C Eastern Command, Lt Gen J S Arora. The Indian victory led to the liberation of Bangladesh.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Bangladesh Liberation War victory, the Border Security Force (BSF) organised a wreath laying ceremony at the Liberation War Memorial at the Bharat-Bangladesh Maitri Uddyan Park, Chottakhola, in south Tripura.

To cap it all, a section of unscrupulous businessmen are out to defraud them by manipulating their weighing instruments, including the digital ones.
Sleuths from the Legal Metrology department (Weights and Measures) inspected various markets in Guwahati on Tuesday, and found manipulation of weighing instruments by a section of businessmen. While cases have been registered against 12 of them, many other unscrupulous traders have also been identified for defrauding consumers.
