The following are excerpts from the Watertown Police log as made available by the Watertown Police Department. The log is public and available for review. All persons are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
Feb. 15
1:39 p.m.: Adult male Watertown resident said his bank notified him someone attempted to cash a check in his name in the amount of $498. The check cashing was attempted in Connecticut. He has no idea how someone obtained his information.
Feb. 16
4:10 p.m.: Employee at Roma Tile, 400 Arsenal St., said some time overnight a catalytic converter was stolen from one of the employee vehicles. It appeared the converter was cut from the vehicle with some type of tool. Police are investigating.

Jan. 4
2:22 p.m.: Roma Tile, 440 Arsenal St., reported possible credit card fraud issue. They had a charge back to their account for $1,667.89. They located the purchase which was made on Dec. 16 by a person claiming to be a contractor. He bought 30 cases of tile and loaded it onto their truck. The credit card did not come back to the name that was provided. It came back to a person out of Connecticut. They spoke with the person from Connecticut who had no idea this was happening. Someone made a credit card in their name.
