The local government of Quezon City said Friday it is letting the police to investigate actress Angel Locsin if she is legally liable after two individuals who went to her community pantry last week tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is tasked by the Department of Interior and Local Government “to conduct the investigation and undertake legal action if such is merited,” the local government said, in response to question if it will take any legal action against the actress.
On Friday, a 42-year-old and a 43-year-old female residents from Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City were found to be infected with the virus.
March 15, 2021 RECENT cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Quezon City were caused by household transmission that stemmed from the workplace, a report by the city’s Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) said.
Quezon City (QC), the most populous city in the Philippines with about three million people, also has the biggest number of infections.
In the last 14 days to March 14, there were a total of 3,585 new cases of infection in QC, according to the Department of Health (DOH) Covid-19 tracker.
There remained 2,991 active cases as of 8 a.m. of March 14, while 32,024 have recovered and 863 had died.
In a statement, the QC Government said the infections in the workplace are further spread in households when the affected employee goes home from work.
