Mixed Breed Brewing opens Saturday in Guilderland
opens this weekend at 457 Route 146 in Guilderland Center, at the Park Guilderland Plaza.
The Saturday grand-opening event sold out all tickets for each of its three time slots weeks ago, but Mixed Breed beers will still be available in cans for takeout customers. Regular hours, starting Sunday, are 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; hours may expand to include Wednesdays if warranted by demand.

Four local barbecue restaurants will be offering meals for pickup at five area locations from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 3, as part of a fundraiser called The Capital Region Smokes Out Leukemia. It is part of the campaign for the annual
Fat Crow Gourmet, which makes a line of mustards, sauces and jams.
Participating purveyors are Iron Works Grill, Miller’s Backyard BBQ, Rollin’ Smoke Handcrafted BBQ and Wagon Train BBQ, with pickup locations in Clifton Park, Guilderland (website says Albany), Mechanicville, Rotterdam and Troy. To organizer Myla Kramer, that goal seems more relevant than ever this year.
“It’s not just the regular winter cabin fever, which is the original idea behind Winterfest . . but now it’s like ten-fold because of COVID,” said Kramer, who is the director of the Office of Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs.
The community-wide event is slated to run from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, with cross country ski races, outhouse races, nature walks, food trucks and other outdoor activities.
