The search for 27-year-old Ryan Tew was suspended Wednesday at 7 p.m. after Coast Guard crew and local agencies combed some 1870-square miles of Virginia Beach waters for the missing kayaker.
According to the Coast Guard, 27-year-old Ryan Tew went kayaking around 11:30 p.m. Monday, launching his red single-person kayak from Crab Creek in the Lynnhaven Inlet. Tew was scheduled to return around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Coast Guard watchstanders were alerted he was overdue around 10 a.m. this morning.
