The Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration has deployed big data to optimise tax administration in Edo State, leading to increase in individual data capture of taxpayers from 160,000 in 2017 to 519,543 as at May 2021.
The state’s monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) stood at N2.8b from N1.6b in 2017, making the state second to Lagos State in number of taxpayers with Tax Identification Number (TIN).
