Acting Minister Rejected by Parliament Fires 11 Advisers
Some of the advisers fired from their jobs by the acting Minister of Education Rangina Hamidi on Thursday said that they were terminated without any reason given.
They said that Rangina Hamidi has appointed her close aides in their place.
The suspended advisers said that the Education Ministry also plans to fire another 1,400 employees in the near future.
Legal experts have said that an acting minister does not have the legal authority to reshuffle or fire someone from the jobs.
The fired advisers said that they were informed of the decision by the notification letters sent to them.
Parliament: Palace Violated Law by Forming New Dept
The Defense Commission of Afghanistan’s parliament on Tuesday said that the Administrative Office of the President (AOP) has breached the law by creating a new entity known as the Department of Policy and Strategy, in the structure of the AOP.
Lawmakers said that the AOP has also signed a contract for the supply of food stuffs to the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior, which is totally in contradiction to the law.
Lawmakers said that the Department of Policy and Strategy is working in parallel to the National Procurement Authority (NPA).
