Federal Judge Urbanski gives notice, applicants sought

Michael Urbanski of Roanoke became a federal magistrate judge — a position selected by other judges — in 2004. He was nominated to become a federal district judge by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate in 2011. Now an application process will begin for potential nominees to replace Urbanski.
