KNOXVILLE, Tenn. The Knox County Sheriff s Office said the man suspected in a stabbing at a West Knox County Days Inn has been charged with attempted murder.
Authorities were hunting Thursday morning for a man reported to have stabbed another man at the West Knox County motel.
Some schools near the Days Inn on Parkside Drive were on lockdown as a precaution because the suspect may be on foot.
Authorities were called about 9:30 a.m. to the motel on the stabbing. The victim, identified as David Mase, had been stabbed in the neck, according to the Knox County Sheriff s Office.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. The Knox County Sheriff s Office said that they took a man into custody after a short pursuit in East Knox County.
They said that officers pursued a stolen Honda CR-V Friday evening. Eventually, they were able to get the vehicle stopped on Asheville Highway near John Sevier Highway. The driver was taken into custody and was identified as James Caven, 37.
KPD officers arrest felon wanted out of Kentucky on sexual abuse charges

KNOXVILLE, Tenn Knoxville Police Department officers located and arrested 38-year-old Michael Curl of Knoxville, Tennessee on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at just after 4 p.m.
Curl was wanted out of Kentucky on three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree of a minor, according to KPD.
KPD investigators confirmed that Curl was residing in Knoxville after acting on a tip indicating that possibility last week.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Police said they have arrested a man in connection with an assault and rape incident reported at an apartment on Shamrock Avenue.
The Knoxville Police Department said that 47-year-old Mark Ward of Knoxville was arrested and charged on December 13.
The incident was reported at the 700 block of Shamrock Avenue.
Around 8:30 p.m., Ward was accused of luring a female victim from her apartment by saying that his girlfriend needed the victim’s help in his apartment, police said.
