unveiled a 228-member national hispanic leadership team across 20 states. it s a known fact that the demographics in the u.s. are shifting, but what else can these candidates bring to the table to increase latino voter turnout? joining me now is someone who knows the best way to do this, national president of the league of united latin american citizens, roger rocha. roger, good to see you. thanks for being with me. let s talk about this shift. is it really a shift in change? are these candidates doing enough to reach out to the latino community? from our perspective, the answer is no. let s be honest. we have candidates every presidential cycle that want the latino vote. but yet you have the same parties that put obstacles to suppress latino votes and minority votes. so they want it one way, but they re trying to get it another way. they want the vote, but then they move to suppress our vote. an example, in texas. voter i.d. laws. you know, since 2010, there have been 22 states that
