miart is the international modern and contemporary art fair in Milan, organised by Fiera Milano and directed by Nicola Ricciardi (April 12–14, 2024 / VIP preview April 11).
With the 2024 theme Between Past and Future, Kestner Gesellschaft concludes a trilogy of its self-reflection which began with the 2022 investigation of the notion of tenderness and was continued in 2023 by a series of exhibitions.
Their legacy includes Rachel Whiteread’s cast of a terraced house, Roger Hiorns transformation of a council flat into a blue crystal cave and Michael Landy’s destruction of all his possessions in a department store window.
