CHP Officers Killed In The ‘Newhall Incident’ Remembered On 51 Year Anniversary
Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Office are remembering their four fallen brothers who were gunned down 51 years ago Monday during the “Newhall Incident.”
Shortly before midnight on April 5, 1970, a pair of career criminals shot and killed officers Walt Frago, Roger Gore, James Pence and George Alleyn in a gunbattle following a traffic stop.

Bobby Davis and Jack Twinning, the pair of career criminals, first came into contact in federal prison and reunited in Houston Texas after they were released. The pair decided to move out to the Los Angeles area, but struggled to find employment as a result of their criminal records.
