good afternoon i m don scotts. this is what people are talking about today. the special session beginning. lawmakers return faring 3 day session in opening returning for a 3 day session in hoping of closing the gap in the budget. good afternoon, pat. reporter: good afternoon everyone. the senate came back at 10 o clock this morning, the house will get underway. what they re going to do is pick up where they left off at the end of the regular session, which means an income tax increase on about 16% of maryland tax filers. single filers with aen an income up to $100,000 will see no change. your tax taxpayers filinging jointly will see no change up to $150,000. a quarter percent increase on the dollar so the tax rate goes up from 4.25% to 5%. reporter: another big item for this special session is the transfer of teacher pension costs from the state to local governments. there s a state that s been worked out for that as well. reporting live, pat warren. thank you.
condition and the bouncer in jail and karen gray houston has more. reporter: the bar bouncer is 28-year-old marcus plummer. he posted $50,000 bond to the assault charges. the victim who is in the military, remains hospitalized in stable condition. on a typical saturday night, rj bently is a popular spot with college students. the past saturday around midnight is when the bouncer anthony plummer allegedly viciously assaulted a patron and started with a rowdy encounter between two bar customers. the victim had apparently thrown a drink on someone inside the bar and then was escorted out. reporter: police say when the drink-throwing bar patron tried to get back into the bar, that is when things got dicey. the investigation reveals plummer, the bouncer, punched, choked and threw the patron outside on the ground. reporter: turns out the victim is an airman, in the honor guard and from wyoming. that airman was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. plummer was ar
