A 53-year-old Roseville man has been indicted and charged in a cold case homicide that occurred in McMinn County, Tennessee, more than 25 years ago, following an ongoing investigation and the re-testing of evidence.
A Roseville man has been indicted and charged in a cold case murder that happened nearly 25 years ago. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation publicized on Friday that 53-year-old Rodney E. Jackson was indicted by a grand jury out of McGinn County Tennessee on one count of first-degree murder on January 18th. Jackson was arrested by the Illinois State Police and extradited back to Tennessee, where he has been booked into the McGinn County Jail. Special agents in Tennessee joined McGinn County deputies in November 1996 to investigate a female body found on the ramp of an interstate. The victim was identified as 52-year-old Barbara Danely Johnson and authorities say she died as a result of homicide. Then in August, agents re-submitted evidence from the case to the TBI crime lab in Nashville for re-examination. Rodney Jackson was then arrested as a result of further testing of evidence.
