NEW BEDFORD – Despite the pandemic, the New Bedford LGBTQ Winter Film Series continues to thrive online with its discussions of selected queer films. The event also has drawn participants across Massachusetts and beyond, and with only two films left, you can still join in on the conversation. Produced by The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network, with support provided by Mass Humanities, the New Bedford LGBTQ Winter Film Series is virtual this year. Attendees are encouraged to watch the chosen film on their own and join the discussion on Zoom. This Sunday is Rodney Evans’ 2004 film “Brother to Brother,” starring Anthony Mackie (known famously as “The Falcon” in the Marvel movies). It’s about a black art student (Mackie) who is thrown out by his parents for being gay. He befriends an elderly homeless man (Roger Robinson) who was an important figure in the Harlem Renaissance.
