Bost talks redistricting concerns, vaccine hesitancy

Bost talks redistricting concerns, vaccine hesitancy Unmute (WSIL) In a wide-ranging 15 minute interview with News 3 WSIL, Congressman Mike Bost shared a wide range of concerns about what s happening in our nation s capitol and in the state of Illinois. He says democrats in Illinois, including Governor JB Pritzker, need to be more transparent as they work to re-shape legislative districts over the next decade. Bost believes a surprising source may reemerge during the process. I believe Mike Madigan will have a lot input into that. Even since he s not there anymore. Because of his experience and because even though he may not be in those places of position the people will still ask him because of the amount of time he spent building maps that hold the democratic majority, Bost said.

Illinois Democrat and former DCCC Chair Cheri Bustos won t seek reelection to House in 2022

Illinois Democrat and former DCCC Chair Cheri Bustos won t seek reelection to House in 2022 By Aaron Navarro April 30, 2021 / 1:49 PM / CBS News Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, the former chair of the House Democratic campaign arm, announced Friday she will not seek reelection in 2022. Her announcement comes days after apportionment numbers released by the Census Bureau showed that her state would lose a Congressional seat during redistricting.   In an announcement video, Bustos said, It will be a new decade, and I feel it is time for a new voice. As for my tenure in Congress, my mission was never defined by the people in the corridors of Washington, but by the people in our communities, who I ve been lucky enough to meet every day, she said.

The GOP climate push that mostly leaves out climate

NationofChange The GOP climate push that mostly leaves out climate House Republicans introduced a new climate agenda that promotes fossil fuels and speculative technologies, while leaving out real emissions reduction targets. On April 19, Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced the beginning of a week-long campaign to promote the Republican “alternative” climate agenda. “Democrats often dismiss Republicans as being disinterested in addressing global climate change. This is just false,” he said in a video posted to Twitter. In the video, he announced the roll-out of roughly three dozen bills that “focus on solutions that make American energy cleaner, more affordable, and also reduce emissions around the world.”

Capitol Fax com - Your Illinois News Radar » Today s quotable

Completely tone deaf for Illinois Democratic County Chair Association President to lecture Republicans about taking tainted money from politicians under investigation. Will she call for the all the Democrats who received “dirty money” from Michael Madigan to donate it to charity? Matt Gaetz is innocent until proven guilty just like all the other Republicans and Democrats that have been accused of improprieties. I choose to wait for the facts to come out “Davis Gaetz Hit With Money Issue” If Davis defends Gaetz… boy, that’d be… interesting. Rodney Davis always harps on partisan vitriolic rhetoric but is also always the first to be aggressive and combative with Dems and the press. “Do as I say, not as I do.”
