Caltrans announced on Friday that by Memorial Day, May 27, it will have the initial repair work completed to stabilize the edge of Highway 1 south of Rocky Creek Bridge, where a slip-out occurred two weeks ago.
Work on the slip-out which occurred March 30 includes Caltrans’ conducting vital geotech assessments which have allowed the convoys and implementing a traffic management system for the corridor including signage advising of the closures on Highway 1.
Changes to the Big Sur Marathon course because of the recent landslide along Highway 1 have been approved, enabling the race to go on as scheduled on April 28
