The Maine Department of Transportation has announced its work plan for the next three years. The plan includes all capital projects and programs, maintenance and operations activities, planning initiatives, and administrative functions. This plan contains 2,180 work items with a total value of $2.71 billion. The following projects are scheduled for Lincoln County for 2021.
In Wiscasset, there are two projects for Wiscasset Municipal Airport. An aviation, runway/taxiway, reconstruction project is for safety and infrastructure improvements which include acquisition for snow removal equipment. Estimated project cost is $361,000. An airport general equipment purchase and aviation, runway taxi, and reconstruction project provides safety and infrastructure improvements. AUGUSTA – Sen. Chloe Maxmin, D-Nobleboro, is pleased to share the details of Maine’s three-year transportation infrastructure work plan, and what it means for Lincoln County and the towns of Washington and Windsor. The plan is released annually with an outline of the Maine Department of Transportation’s strategy for road, bridge and other transportation upgrades and maintenance projects.
“Many of us who live in rural communities know firsthand how essential safe bridges and roads are to getting us where we need to go – for school, work, the doctor and everything else,” said Sen. Maxmin. “The maintenance, improvements and additions to our infrastructure that are included in this plan are absolutely essential to our everyday lives.”
