The Maine Department of Transportation has announced its work plan for the next three years. The plan includes all capital projects and programs, maintenance and operations activities, planning initiatives, and administrative functions. This plan contains 2,180 work items with a total value of $2.71 billion. The following projects are scheduled for Lincoln County for 2021.
In Wiscasset, there are two projects for Wiscasset Municipal Airport. An aviation, runway/taxiway, reconstruction project is for safety and infrastructure improvements which include acquisition for snow removal equipment. Estimated project cost is $361,000. An airport general equipment purchase and aviation, runway taxi, and reconstruction project provides safety and infrastructure improvements. This work includes design, permitting and reconstruction of Runway 7-25 for Phase 3 obstruction removal. Estimated project cost is $4.12 million. Three highway construction/rehabilitation, rural highways, and intersection reconstruction projects. The first reconnects a U.S. Route 1 northbound left-turn lane on Old Bath Road. Estimated project cost is $760,000. The second constructs a U.S. Route 1 southbound left-turn lane and right-turn lane at Route 144 intersection. Estimated project cost is $699,000. The third constructs U.S. Route 1 left-turn and right-turn lanes at the Route 144 intersection. Estimated project cost is $540.000.
