Installation of the new solar panels behind the West Rockhill Township building has been completed. The solar system will be a model for other towns and an educational site for students, West Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors member Jim Miller said. Jay Keyser, another of the board members, said he agrees with others who have said it s an eyesore. There are plans to add fencing, landscaping and buffering, which will be paid for with donations, Miller said.Â

EAST ROCKHILLÂ â The newest addition to the township s open space land doesn t stand alone. It s adjacent to the open space we currently have near Deibler Elementary School, so we can connect to existing open space, board Chairman David Nyman said following the April 27 East Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors meeting. During the meeting, the board approved the agreement of sale to purchase the 1.8-acre tract at 1404 Schwenkmill Road.
The $95,000 purchase price was based on an appraisal of the property s market value, Will Oetinger, the township s solicitor, said.

The board also approved condemning the property, but Oetinger said that is done to provide tax benefits to the seller.
EAST ROCKHILL â Township meetings are back home. Obviously, we re in the building now. It s been a long time coming, township engineer Steve Baluh said at the Feb. 23 East Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors meeting.Â
The meeting was the first one in the new meeting room that was part of renovations and an about 1,800 square foot addition to the township office building on Ridge Road.

The project is not fully completed, but is close, Baluh said. We purposely kept the punch list open past this meeting to make sure that the board had ample opportunity to look around the facility and raise any questions, he said.
