Rockford Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a Hymn Festival of choral and organ music and congregational hymn singing on Saturday, November 19, at 7:00 p.m. in First Covenant Church, 316 Wood Road, Rockford, IL. Seth Carlson will be the principal organist and director. A native son of First Covenant Church, Seth is now organist at First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables, FL, where he also coordinates the concert series. The evening promises to be a festive service of praise and thanksgiving. Let’s fill the house and raise our voices in song! Admission is free. A freewill offering will benefit the Rockford Rescue Mission.

Critically acclaimed vocal ensemble Cor Cantiamo performs Benjamin Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb,” among works for choir and organ by Vaughan Williams, Howells, and others. Voices are under the direction of Eric A. Johnson, Director of Choral Activities for Northern Illinois University, with concert organist Marianne Kim at the sanctuary organ.
