ROCKFORD – When residents of Rockford packed together at the end of
2019 to kick off their 2020 celebration, no one would have thought that
the kick-off of the community’s Bicentennial Celebration would be one of
the few activities of the year due to the descent of the COVID pandemic
on the community and the surrounding area.
The excitement on the
community’s streets this spring is that of planning and looking forward
to activities of celebration that signal a new year beyond the COVID
Gold Award Girl Scouts help make improvements in Rockford

take “make the world a better place” to the next level. The Girl Scout
Gold Award is the mark of the truly remarkable, proof that not only can
she make a difference, but that she already has according the Girl Scout
website.
Kenzie Stephenson’s Gold Award is a bus stop for Shanes
Park located in Rockford. This project will be a permanent improvement
to the park and provide shelter for students waiting on the bus.
