Last year, newsom took on donald trump head on. But this years reference was more oblique. California is the rocket fuel powering americas resurgence. Let me be clear. It began under the leadership of president barack obama. Newsom then turned his attention to what he considers his states greatest challenge. There is nothing compassionate about allowing fellow californians to live on the streets, huddled in cars or makeshift encampments. Reporter he pointed to emergency measures such as the distribution of fema trailers, with more on the way for other counties like sonoma, santa clara and contra costa. But he said it will take more than that including hundreds of millions of dollars in new state funding.
