Fireworks will once again brighten the skies the east metro area with several Fourth of July celebrations set to take place over the holiday weekend.
After a pandemic hiatus last year, Conyersâ Independence Day celebration â Red, White & Boom! â returns this year on July 3 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The city of Conyers and Rockdale County governments have partnered to bring back Independence Day fireworks to the heart of Olde Town on Saturday, July 3, from 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
âAfter missing out on the July 4 celebration in 2020 due to the pandemic, I am very excited that weâre able to bring this popular event back this year with a fabulous fireworks show. This will be yet another great event that will allow us to feel that things are truly getting back to the way they were,â said Mayor Vince Evans.

â Rockdale County Public Schools will hold a Virtual RCPS Teacher Job Fair on Wednesday, May 19, 2 p.m. â 5 p.m. online.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 15, the Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Departments are moving their COVID-19 vaccination site at Rockdale Career Academy to a new location at Springfield Baptist Church in Conyers.
The Rockdale Career Academy site will be used through today, Feb. 12, a news release stated.
Springfield Baptist Church is at 1877 Iris Drive SE, Conyers, GA 30013.

COVINGTON, Ga. Some Newton County residents were caught by surprise after state health officials recently moved the Covington site for COVID-19 vaccinations to Conyers.
One resident said it was done without enough notice and could pose a risk to eligible patients who must now travel 13 miles west for the vaccine.
Gwinnett, Newton & Rockdale County Health Departments on Jan. 18 moved one of its two vaccination sites from Covington to a site 13 miles west at the Rockdale Career Academy in Conyers.
