SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA (KTTC) Some college campuses in the country have already publicly required students to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning to campus in the fall. However, it is a different story for campuses in the area.
University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, Winona State’s Rochester Campus, Rochester Community and Technical College, St. Mary’s University and Riverland Community College all say they’re not requiring a vaccine.
“We know it’s a way back, a potential way back to some normal practices but we also recognize it’s a personal choice,” said Riverland Executive Director of Communications James Douglass.

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Hundreds of former students of two defunct for-profit colleges in Minnesota could soon see their student loan debt erased and receive additional compensation.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has announced a tentative settlement totaling $42 million to benefit 920 former students of the Minnesota School of Business and Globe University. The Minnesota School of Business operated the campus in northwest Rochester until both of the postsecondary schools shut down three years ago after the US Department of Education removed them from the federal student loan program. That followed a ruling by a Minnesota court that found the schools committed consumer fraud by misleading students.
ART of iconic Chester landmarks has gone on display at a Cheshire College – South and West campus. Chester-based creative artist Nicky Thompson’s work includes landmarks such as the Groves, Eastgate Clock, Chester Racecourse and Chester Zoo as part of his ‘Made in Chester’ artwork series. The artwork was originally exhibited at the Grosvenor Museum in Chester and now has a permanent home at Cheshire College’s Chester Campus in Handbridge, after Nicky put a call out on social media in a bid to keep the collection together instead of selling the individual pieces separately. Inspired by great poster artists of the early 20th century, the collection will now take on a new lease of life encouraging the next generation of local creatives to look to their local surroundings when drawing inspiration.
