HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WBRC) - Weâre learning more about a Homewood mother of two who was killed in a crash during a police chase in Homewood.
We spoke with Robyn Naftel Herringâs friends Thursday. Each sharing special stories about Robyn.

They say she was a strong woman of faith.
One of Herringâs friends said her devotional reading this morning said, âYour prayers for your children are the greatest legacy you can leaveâ. Her heart immediately went to Robyn because sheâs now survived by her two girls who she loved and constantly prayed over.
Man sought in fatal crash arrested in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) A man sought in a fatal wreck that began with a police chase near Birmingham was arrested Thursday after police found him at an apartment in Tuscaloosa, authorities said.
Jordan Markice Ricks, 28, initially refused to come outside but eventually surrendered after about 30 minutes, according to a statement from the Tuscaloosa Police Department. A U.S. Marshals task force had tracked him to the complex, police said.
Ricks was taken to Homewood, where he will be charged with murder and leaving the scene of an accident in a crash that killed Robyn Naftel Herring, 42, on Monday night, according to the statement.

TUSCALOOSA According to Tuscaloosa police, the man suspected of causing a fatal crash in during a Vestavia Hills police pursuit in Homewood has been taken into custody in Tuscaloosa.
Members of the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Special Response Team safely took Jordan Markice Ricks, 28, into custody at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex just after 8 a.m. on Thursday.
Ricks will be transported to Homewood to face charges of murder and leaving the scene of an accident in the traffic death of Robyn Naftel Herring, 42, of Homewood.
Herring, a UAB nurse practitioner and mother of two daughters, was killed when Ricks crashed into her car while fleeing Vestavia Hills Police Monday night.

The man charged in a connection with a Monday night Vestavia Hills police chase that ended with a crash that killed a Homewood nurse and mother of two has been apprehended.
Jordan Marktice Ricks, 28,was captured Thursday around 8:15 a.m. at an apartment in Tuscaloosa by members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Tuscaloosa police.
Authorities tracked Ricks to the apartment, in the 1100 block of Hargrove Road East, from Dolomite. A female answered the door but Ricks refused to come out, officials said.
