Students built and programmed sumobots that faced off against other robots in a ring. To win, students had to push their opponent's robot out of the ring while keeping their robot in.
Teams from Hersey, Prospect, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Elk Grove and Rolling Meadows high schools competed in the District 214 Robot Rumble competition in Arlington Heights.
Cleveland State Debate Team Named Champions Of Robot Rumble Tuesday, March 9, 2021

This past Saturday the Cleveland State Debate Team, led by Coach Laurie Rowland, were named the champions of the Robot Rumble hosted by Bowling Green State University. CSCC was one of 24 collegiate teams competing. Previously described as an “up-and-coming team to watch,” this new achievement firmly establishes Cleveland State as a contender in collegiate debate circles, officials said. This season, Cleveland State has six debaters competing in both International Public Debate Association and National Parliamentary Debate Association.
