A 22-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 76-year-old man who was attacked with an axe at his home in Dublin last week.
Oliver Doran, a father of three, with an address at Sofia Housing, Cork Street in Dublin was remanded in custody for a week.
The court was told that when he was charged this afternoon with the murder of Kwok Ping Cheng he replied: I m sorry for the man.
Mr Cheng was found fatally injured after he had been attacked with an axe in his home in Robinson s Court off Cork Street in Dublin last Thursday.

A MAN IN his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of an elderly man’s body at a house on Dublin’s Cork Street last week.
The man, who was arrested this morning, is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
A KILLER broke into a pensioner’s home and murdered him with an axe, gardai believe.
Cops were last night hunting the brute who butchered the man believed to be originally from China at Robinson’s Court on Cork Street in Dublin city centre.

Neighbours Rita and John O’Connor said the victim was very quiet
Officers suspect the killer broke into the flat through a window before subjecting the victim to a horrific attack and leaving him lying in a pool of blood.
The alarm was raised by the victim’s care worker after she had called to his flat and discovered the grisly scene.
