IU Health Administers 20,000th COVID-19 Vaccine

Photo courtesy of IU Health Indiana University Health began administering COVID-19 vaccines to south-central Indiana Hoosiers on December 18 of last year. On Friday, January 29, they administered their 20,000th vaccine. “While the numbers are important, the [vaccination] team is also credited with making this process quick and efficient for their scheduled appointments,” says Robin Lasek, public relations manager for IU Health, South Central Region. Currently, Hoosiers age 65 and up are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. In Monroe County, vaccination sites include IU Health Bloomington Hospital and the Monroe County Convention Center. Any Monroe County residents interested in claiming possible unused doses of the Moderna vaccine can sign up for the weekly standby list here.
