Taylor Rosciti hit an inside-the-park home run to highlight a three-run fifth inning as the North Fort Myers High School softball team rallied to defeat Dixie-Rollins 7-5 in the first round of the Region 5A-2 championship Thursday.
At press time, North was set to go on to host Palmetto in the regional semifinals Tuesday. Palmetto had defeated Charlotte, 3-2, Thursday to advance.

Taylor Rosciti hit an inside-the-park home run to highlight a three-run fifth inning as the North Fort Myers High School softball team rallied to defeat Dixie-Rollins 7-5 in the first round of the Region 5A-2 championship Thursday.
North will go on to host Palmetto in the regional semifinals Tuesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. Palmetto defeated Charlotte, 3-2, Thursday to advance.
North and Palmetto exchanged the lead several times before that decisive inning. With the Red Knights training 4-3 in the fifth, Rosciti drove the ball to right field that glanced off the glove of Rylie Geer and rolled all the way to the wall in the cavernous field, allowing Rosciti to score standing up to tie the game.
