City-wide blood donation taking place in Lafayette through Vitalant

Bertrand Drive With so many locations and times available over the four-day drive, Vitalant urges the Lafayette community to make an appointment using the vitalant.org/lafayette link. Vitalant says that the convalescent plasma contains antibodies that can be used to treat patients with an active, severe COVID-19 case to give them an extra boost to fight their illness. Even those who have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 can help. When donors give blood or platelets, they are informed of their antibody status; if positive, Vitalant produces convalescent plasma from the donation. These donors can then give a convalescent plasma donation in the future to help even more COVID-19 patients.
