New Britain Herald - Former scholar newest member of American Savings Foundation s board of directors

New Britain Herald @Hooks Ciara NEW BRITAIN – Loan Nguyen is the newest member of the American Savings Foundation’s board of directors. Nguyen was a recipient of the foundation’s Robert T. Kenney Scholarship from 2002-2007, and is now the second past scholar to serve on the foundation’s board. “As a past scholar, I am excited to give back to the next generation of scholarship recipients,” Nguyen said. “I am also excited to be part of the foundation’s legacy of advancing hope through philanthropic investment and community involvement.” Nguyen grew up in West Hartford and graduated from the University of Connecticut. She currently lives in Avon and works as a psychotherapist for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, primarily with young adults. She also serves as a captain with the Connecticut Army National Guard’s Behavioral Health team, counseling military members and helping them control stress.
