Update: The Eat on the Street initiative will launch the week of February 21 after being postponed due to the winter storm.
More outdoor seating is coming to local restaurants starting next week as pilot patio program launched by District 1 Councilman Roberto C. Treviño s office begins.
The Eat on the Street initiative aims to provide support to businesses looking to expand their outdoor capacity, Treviño said. The councilman said he s working with the World Heritage Office and the city s public works department since last summer to set up barricades along streets typically used for parking in front of restaurants.
Our family was left with more questions than answers. The San Antonio Police Department did not allow us to view footage from all five officers, nor did we see camera footage from the police vehicles. We only saw two clips from two angles that were roughly 2-3min each along with one edited clip which was slowed down. When we asked why we were only given access to these clips, we were told that they were only showing the ones which in their opinion showed why the shooting occurred. The Police department further did not allow the family to bring legal representation with them to the viewing, which is unacceptable.

The San Antonio Police Department is allowing family members of Darrell Zemault Sr. to see its body camera footage nearly five months after he was killed in a fatal police confrontation.
On Sept. 15, Zemault, 55, was killed by San Antonio police officers in front of his West Side home. According to SAPD, officers were there to arrest Zemault on two family violence warrants. The department said the incident escalated as two officers tried to handcuff Zemault and he resisted.
