PITTSBURGH  You can take a virtual visit inside the Roberto Clemente Museum on Monday as Doors Open Pittsburgh celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Dedicating to preserving the legacy of the Pittsburgh Pirates hall of famer, the Lawrenceville museum shows how Clemente had an impact beyond baseball, best depicted by the inscription on his cenotaph, “Son of Carolina, Exemplary Citizen, Athlete, Philanthropist, Teacher, Hero of the Americas and the World, notes the nonprofit Doors Open Pittsburgh. Incensed by the injustice, inequality and racism he witnessed in the United States, Clemente extended his humanitarian activism to the African American community. In fact, Martin Luther King visited Clemente at his farm in Puerto Rico, Doors Open Pittsburgh said.
